The player has to use Flying Pikmin to lift them up and get to the fruit underneath. In one area, there are several clipboards lying around with fruit (which the playable characters must harvest to survive) lying underneath.
The Pikmin series in general has a bit of an issue with Pikmin trying to path through walls, but there's a particularly outstanding example in the third game.A Firey Blowhog just keeps on breathing fire on an idle, heat-resistant red Pikmin. The enemies have a bit of this as well.
